Happy 1st birthday to NT Apple RTC!

Tomorrow (7th July) marks the first birthday celebration of North Tyneside’s Apple Regional Training Centre. There has been another TeachMeet event organised and it looks set to be as great as last year’s.

It’s hard to believe that it is a whole year ago since educators from all around flocked to Stephenson Memorial Primary School for the launch of their brilliant centre (#RTCFever). There was a fabulous disco theme, tours, keynotes from Mark Anderson and Jennifer Marshall as an Apple representative, delicious pizza, a lovely buffet and to round off the day, a fantastic TeachMeet bursting with ideas. It was also brilliant to see some of the students talking about their work too. The people there are very friendly and welcoming.

In the past year, I have heard from Laura Dickinson (eLearning Lead Teacher) that the initiative has been extremely popular. Places on the training courses are snapped up and the increasing level of creativity and excellent work in North Tyneside has been clear for all to see. From following a lot of the educators involved on Twitter, it really is inspiring. The students always look so engaged and excited to be learning!

To sign up for the TeachMeet event (Thursday 7th July), just go to the event page. It is on from 17:00 - 19:00 BST. If you can’t make it, be sure to follow the hashtag #NTRTCis1 as there will be lots going on and we’ll be tweeting through the event.

If you do come along, come and say hello!

Thanks,

Natalie
